NHS FRIENDS AND FAMILY TEST

The NHS Friends and Family Test is an anonymous simple test which is a quick, consistent, standardised patient experience indicator. The results combined with the follow up question is a mechanism to identify poor performance and encourage staff to make improvements where services do not live up to the expectations of our patients.

Patients will be able to use the information to make decisions about their care and to challenge their local trusts to improve services whilst championing those who excel. The test will also empower patients to see themselves as customers and to demand good customer service from the NHS.

The question on the test is:-

'How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they need similar care or treatment?'

There is an additional box for comments as to the reason for the answer provided.
